Agnes Schnabl is a freelance conductor and has been a lecturer in conducting and choir at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since 2021. She is the director of the coro siamo (Vienna), the Austrian National Youth Choir, the Tyrolean National Youth Choir and the ensemble kanti (Graz). She works as a choir director and an educator at choir conducting courses and has served as a jury member at national and international choral competitions.​

In 2024, she won first prize at the London International Choral Conducting Competition. She also earned second prize and the audience award with the Tyrolean National Youth Choir at the International Choir Festival CantaRode 2025 in the Netherlands. Agnes has repeatedly worked with the Wiener Singverein, the choir of the Wiener Musikverein, and has undertaken guest conducting engagements with Vocalconsort Initium (Japan), Tyrolean Chamber Orchestra InnStrumeni, Drauphilharmonie Villach, Chorus Alea, Cor di Jëuni Gherdëina (Italy) and other ensembles.

She studied conducting and choral conducting pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Johannes Prinz, Rahela Durič and Franz Jochum. Prior to that, she received conducting lessons from Alois Glaßner at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna as part of her music pedagogy studies. Additionally, she completed the postgraduate choral conducting course with Jörn Hinnerk-Andresen at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. She also gained valuable conducting insights from Justin Doyle and Florian Helgath.

From 2021 to 2023, she was a scholarship recipient of the Forum Dirigieren program of the German Music Council, as part of which she worked with Yuval Weinberg and Bernhard Schmidt and conducted the MDR Radio Choir, the SWR Vokalensemble, the Philharmonic Choir Berlin and Canta Nova Saar. In 2022, she assisted Justin Doyle with the Klangkosmos Schütz 22 project, a collaboration between four German state youth choirs and members of the RIAS Chamber Choir Berlin.​

As part of her university education and external training, she has worked with the Zürcher Singakademie, the Slovenian Philharmonic Choir, the Saxon State Opera Choir Dresden, the City Theater Choir Klagenfurt, the Nova Era Vocalensemble, the University Orchestra of the Mozarteum Salzburg, the Orchestra for New Music of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, and their film music orchestra, and conducted in opera and operetta productions. She received musical guidance from Hans-Christoph Rademann, Steven Sametz, Johann Van der Sandt, Robert Sund, Morten Schuldt-Jensen, Josep Vila i Casanas, Maria Goundorina, Erwin Ortner and Thomas Caplin through master classes.

Agnes has been active as a singer in the Terzett Lerchenschnabl and the Terzett 3 Schnablinge, ensembles that have won multiple awards in various competitions. In addition to classical music, she has a deep passion for folk music. Due to her family background, she maintains a special connection to the Slovenian Carinthian song tradition.
